How to Control Oily Skin: Tip #2

Hey everyone,

I'm back with another tip on How to Control Oily skin; today's contender- moisturising.

A lot of people who have oily skin feel like they should scrub their skin squeaky clean and then just leave it; completely avoiding moisturiser. This will dry out the skin; causing it to produce more oil and, if they have sensitive skin, the skin will become angry and irritated.

I like to use an oil-free moisturiser like this one by Neutrogena: this is oil-free which means it doesn't clog pores while hydrating the skin. This is quite thick but applies easily and skins in quickly. Under makeup, it stays matte and gives an almost velvet texture; perfect for controlling shininess. Grapefruit is a fruit which has the perfect acids for counteracting oily skin and so cleansers with grapefruit are also great. This means that as well moisturising the skin, it combats acne under the surface.

The main thing to take away, is that it's important to moisturise, no matter how oily your skin is.

Lots of Love,
Sophie
